Merry Christmas!!

Merry Christmas to everyone, even though it is a little late. I hope you all had a great Christmas. I did. On Christmas Eve I went to my church's traditional Christmas Eve service. This was a lot of fun. I always very much enjoy this service. Many traditional Christmas carols are sung and the service is ended with the singing of "Silent Night" while we light candles. On Christmas Day, my family and I got up and opened presents. Then in the evening my brother and his wife came over and we all hung out together. This was a lot of fun as well. Santa(aka. my parents) were very generous this year. I got a guitar, several movies, a sweater, several gift cards, some jewelry, and a few other little things. I very much enjoyed Christmas. I hope you all did too.

Home for Christmas Break!!

I am now home for Christmas!! I am very glad that I am home. I have already enjoyed spending time with my family and friends. I went back to my home church yesterday, which was both exciting and somewhat sad. I got to see a lot of people that I haven't seen for a long time. This was the exciting part. The sad part was that it really hit me yesterday how much my church is really struggling. I don't think I ever realized how much my church was struggling. We have lost a lot of people and a lot of staff. This part of yesterday was very difficult for me. It is very hard for me to see the brokeness and sadness of the whole situation. I will keep you updated on the situation at my church.

My parents are coming to pick me up from college in a few hours. I can't wait to get home, so I can see my family and friends. Over Christmas Break, I am looking forward to many things. These include spending time with family and friends, doing some Christmas baking, and relaxing. I can't wait till I get home.

College Transition

Looking back at the transition to college that I have been through so far, I have mixed emotions about it. In a lot of ways the transition has been very difficult for me, but it has also been good because I have learned many life lessons within this semester. It is not that I don't like where I am , it is more that I miss the past. I love it at this college. My classes have gone well this semester and in general all of my professors have been excellent. I have begun to make friends and have gotten involved with the BSU. This has been absolutely incredible.

The hardest thing for me has been the many different changes that have taken place in my life. I left my family. I left my church and youth group, both of which I was very involved in. I left everything that I knew as normal. This has truly been the hardest aspect for me. I could have never imagined how huge of a transition it was going to be. This aspect of the transition was made even harder because of the fact that my church has been struggling tremendously recently. Another thing that has been hard for me is having to say good bye to people that I was close to.

Although this transition has been somewhat hard, I am very thankful for it because as I said before I have learned a whole lot. I would say that God has definitely used this transition to strengthen my relationship with Him. I have continued to be reminded that I need to trust in Him no matter what is going on in my life. I feel like by God's grace, I have learned to not look down on people that are struggling with sin. Instead I try to love them with Christ's love. I feel like this is the best way to share the gospel with people. I have definitely not completely gotten used to college life, but I am excited to see what God is going to continue to teach me next semester and how He is going to work in my life to influence the lives of others.

Finished with Classes!!

I just got finished with my classes for my first semester of college. It is very exciting! I still have to take finals next week. I don't think they are going to be too hard though because I don't have any comprehensive finals. After next week, I will be completely finished. I can't believe that I have come this far. I never thought that I would survive college. This semester has gone by so fast. It seems like I just arrived here. I have been through a lot of change this semester. In some ways it has been hard for me, but I love it here. My classes have gone well this semester and I am finally begining to feel like this is where I belong. I will continue to talk about the transition to college in future posts.

First Post

I finally decided that I would start a blog. I don't really know what I am doing, but I think they are a good way to keep in touch with people. Please be patient with me as I try to learn how to be a blogger.
